Technical Documentation

AMSEC LLC is dedicated to providing customers with the highest quality technical documentation, and develops and updates over 1,000 technical manuals each year.  We deliver technical documentation from paper manuals to interactive technical manuals by CD-ROM to Advance Technical Information Systems (ATIS) and through Distance Support pipelines using Technical Data Knowledge Management (TDKM).  Our experts also participate on several working groups, which are utilized as sounding boards to establish guidance and policy.

We can customize documents according to individual customer contract requirements and in accordance with various military specifications, and commercial and industry standards.  We have extensive experience in using a broad range of military specifications and Technical Manual Contract requirements (TMCRs) for technical documentation format and content.  Staff members use their technical expertise as former US Military-qualified system and equipment operators, technicians, and engineers to develop and deliver accurate and concise technical manuals.

  • AMSEC develops technical documentation in accordance with the following requirements:
  • Technical Manual Contract Requirements (TMCRs)
  • Technical Manual Preparation Guideline (TMPG)
  • MIL-STD-38784 and MIL-STD-15071
  • MIL-STD-24784
  • Various other Military Specifications
  • Commercial and Industry Standards

We develop technical documentation using Microsoft Word, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), or eXtensible Markup Language (XML) processing applications.  Graphics are developed using AutoCAD 2000.  Technical manual distribution is accomplished by CD-ROM and/or hard copy.  Final Technical manuals are distributed as Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) from the SGML/XML source data to HTML IETMS or as intelligent Adobe PDF.

AMSEC supports NAVSEA in the management of digital libraries and associated search indices for the ATIS system.  These same experts moved the digital delivery of electronic technical documentation to the next level utilizing TDKM through Distance Support.  AMSEC is also the prime contractor responsible for the Shipboard Non-Tactical Application Deliver Interface System (SNADIS), an effort closely related to TDKM.

AMSEC's experts have participated on working groups revising NAVSEA Mil-DTL-24784 and developing Department of Navy and NAVSEA business rules for Specification S1000D.  Our personnel are dedicated to providing customers the highest quality service and support for technical documentation.
