| VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Oct. 30, 2007 – AMSEC LLC was awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy for submarine work performed on the West Coast and shore work performed in Hawaii. AMSEC is a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman's Newport News sector and full-service provider of engineering, logistics and technical support services, is the prime contractor for the work.
AMSEC was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-incentive-fee performance based contract valued at $32 million. This contract includes four one-year options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $167 million. The work provides the Sea Enterprise (C4ISR) support services for installation, material acquisition, system and equipment modification, test and checkout, systems training and documentation preparation for West Coast work related to all submarines and all shore work performed in Hawaii. This contract will be administered through Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego.
"This contract is an important win for us,” said Brad Mason, director of the maintenance, modernization and technical services operation for AMSEC. “We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, providing mission-critical maintenance support to the fleet.”
Eighty-five percent of the work for the contract will be performed in San Diego and Hawaii, while the remaining 15 percent of the work will be performed at miscellaneous locations including public and private shipyards and numerous sites in the continental U.S. and overseas. The initial year of the contract is scheduled to be completed in September 2008.
