| VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Oct. 30, 2007 – AMSEC LLC was awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy for power systems engineering and technical services work. AMSEC is a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman's Newport News sector and full-service provider of engineering, logistics and technical support services.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, valued at $3.5 million, includes four option years. Work includes the development and modification of existing permanent and test installations of electrical power systems aboard various Navy ships in support of the electrical power systems branch of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia.
“This contract is an important win for AMSEC LLC and further solidifies our position as a leader innaval engineering and technical support services, including alterations installations support, carrier engineering assist teams, underway material assist teams, and combat readiness assessments,” said Christopher Fiori, division manager in the maintenance, modernization and technical services operation for AMSEC. "We look forward to building on our past record of superior service to the Naval Sea systems Command engineers and the naval fleet they support.”
Work will commence in October 2007 and be performed in various locations, including but not limited to Norfolk, Va., San Diego, Mayport, Fla., and Bremerton and Everett, Wash.If all options are exercised, the work is expected to be completed by April 9, 2012.
