Maintenance University (MU) provides maintenance management and integrated maintenance process briefings that are structured to address the concerns of each shipboard organizational tier as well as those of off-ship Maintenance Team members. Included are sharing best practices, applying lessons learned and helping to establish and sustain common practices across the Force. The briefings’ primary focus is understanding how policy transitions to process and how existing processes help ship’s force and the Maintenance Team better plan and manage work. MU integrates the contemporary maintenance concepts of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance and Continuous Maintenance In the context of the SHIPMAIN initiatives.
Command Level Briefing is designed for prospective & incumbent Commanding Officers, Executive Officers, & Department Heads. It is also suitable for ship’s availability managers, CMC & 3MC, all RMC ship maintenance support personnel. (1 ½ to 2 day brief).
Surface Maintenance Managers Briefing is intended for Maintenance Team members, RMC leadership, Staff Material Maintenance Officers — leaders involved in planning, building & executing Surface Force ship Maintenance Availabilities. (In depth briefing)
