AMSEC Announces New Director for Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding – AMSEC’s Logistics and Engineering Services Operation

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) names Mary B. White as Director of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding’s AMSEC subsidiary’s Logistics and Engineering Services (L&ES) operation.

White’s hiring follows successful positions as Vice President with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) managing the Virtual World product line and as Vice President of Services at Knowledge Information Solutions in Virginia Beach, Va.

AMSEC is a full-service provider of engineering, logistics and technical support services primarily to Navy ship programs.  Mary reports to Harris Leonard, vice president of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and president of AMSEC LLC.  She will work out of the Hampton, Va. office.

“Mary White is a key hire for us as we look towards future growth opportunities in a very competitive industry,” said Leonard.  “She will provide fresh perspective and insight into the industry and will utilize her leadership skills and 24 years of engineering experience to manage the Logistics and Engineering Services operation with more than twenty locations worldwide.”

In her new position, White will be responsible for the daily operations of L&ES and all aspects of the enterprise managing approximately 600 employees — logisticians, engineers, analysts, training specialists, warehousemen, and business development professionals, as well as, focus on opportunities for growth in new markets.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and started her engineering career as a Naval Shipyard Industrial Engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  White has served on several industry boards and is the current president of the Tidewater Association of Service Contractors.
