AMSEC CELEBRATES 30 YEARS

The month of July marks a major milestone for AMSEC as we celebrate our 30th year in business.  Our thanks go out to our employees and our customers that made our success possible.

Founded in 1981 as American Systems Engineering Corporation, with just four engineers and two clerks, the company quickly became known for exceptional U.S. Navy fleet support.  Under Carl Albero’s leadership, AMSEC made its mark teaching U.S. Navy sailors how to repair pumps using a concept called CEMAT – or Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Teams.

Today, AMSEC is a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries under the leadership of President, Harris Leonard.  AMSEC has approximately 2,000 employees in 27 locations nationwide and overseas and a full capable team of “Quality People Providing Quality Service” to the Department of Defense and U.S. Navy and commercial maritime customers, particularly those who operate, maintain, and modernize ships.

AMSEC’s skilled maritime designers, engineers, logisticians, technicians, trainers, and analysts support virtually every shipboard system.  This support includes every form of ship-related engineering and support, from naval architecture and marine engineering, naval ship systems assessments, maintenance engineering, waterfront maintenance support, acquisition program support, shipyard industrial engineering and C4I installation and support services.  Additionally, AMSEC provides life cycle integrated logistics services including technical manual development, provisioning documentation, spare parts management, training development and delivery, and software development.

As we build on the “client is king” foundation laid by our founding father and his team and begin welcoming a whole new generation of employees to the company, we fully expect another 30 years of success.

Thanks to each AMSEC employee who has carried the torch and, in a very real way, helped make AMSEC the “go-to” resource for world-class ship systems support it is today.

Happy 30th Anniversary, AMSEC!
